Keajaiban Mitologi Jadi Kunci Perdamaian di Maluku

In 1999, Maluku was engulfed in conflict between long-established residents and newcomers. Years passed, and the bonds of brotherhood between the two once-conflicting groups grew stronger. Who would have thought that myths were one of the connecting bonds between the Seram and Buton peoples of North Seram, Central Maluku, Maluku Province? The existence of these myths was uncovered by Geger Riyanto, an anthropology lecturer at the Indonesian Faculty of Cultural Sciences, in his dissertation entitled "Misunderstanding and Suspicion of Mythical Incorporation among the Butonese of North Seram." Geger's research also received an award for the best anthropology dissertation in German-speaking countries. By revealing the power of these myths, his research offers new hope for unity and diversity in Indonesia.
