THE VATICAN @littlebodybigheart Song: Melanie Martinez as the song clearly explores the use of religion as a cover up of sin and the wrongful treatment the men in power in religious spaces (+ those outside of them) project on women and children, it’s important to use this a reminder to share the message around especially when there’s so much of this behaviour surrounding us in today’s society. Men need to be held accountable for treating women the way they do while preaching god and standing behind the statement that they believe in a religion when the figures they follow in church also abuse their power regularly. Religion is a beautiful thing that people should have the choice to celebrate and believe in on a personal level it’s not something to use to cover up the disgraceful actions you have full control over. The visual is supposed to aid the song in its message while also mocking these men but also create space for women to be as free and express their individuality as they like without feeling tied down to act a certain way because of society and/or a religion.
