(ENEM 2016) Activated carbon is a material that has a high carbon content and is widely used to remove volatile organic compounds from the environment, such as benzene. Adsorption is used to remove these compounds. This phenomenon occurs through intermolecular interactions between the surface of the coal (adsorbent) and the benzene (adsorbate, adsorbed substance). In the case presented, the following occurs between the adsorbent and the adsorbed substance: a. Disulfide bonds b. Covalent bonds c. Hydrogen bonds d. Induced dipole-induced dipole interactions e.
