The home of Spanish national team star Lamine Yamal was targeted in an attempted robbery early Wednesday morning, hours after La Roja's 2-0 victory over France in the 2026 World Cup semi-final, according to Catalan police and media reports. A spokesperson for the Catalan police force, the Mossos d'Esquadra, told AFP that an armed robbery attempt had taken place at a residence in Esplugues de Llobregat, on the outskirts of Barcelona. The spokesperson added that he could not reveal the homeowner's identity to protect his privacy. According to the Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia, the house belongs to Yamal. The newspaper reported that two masked individuals scaled the wall of the house but fled after being surprised by private security personnel.
