THE LAST MASS OF INDIO SOLARI The musician's wake drew a record crowd of over a million people to the Gatica Sports Center in Avellaneda. As the leader of Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, Los Fundamentalistas del Aire Acondicionado, and, in his later years, El Mister y los Marsupiales Extintos, he built a body of work that spanned generations and became a fundamental part of Argentine popular culture. Fans traveled hundreds of kilometers from Formosa, Chaco, Córdoba, Salta, and Rosario. Many spent the night in a vigil filled with rock music, moshing, and dancing in memory of El Mister. Inside the venue, fans threw t-shirts, flowers, jerseys, and flags onto the coffin. "Thank you to everyone who made this effort: those who came and those who wept where grief caught them, as well as the countless young men and women who made this farewell possible and were part of the enormous organization it entailed, all in record time," his family said in a statement.
