The Reservoir We Almost Missed!

Day Three takes an unexpected turn. We were carving our way toward Machynlleth when, just outside Minffordd, the road came to a complete standstill — an accident had blocked the entire route. With no way through, we were forced to rethink everything. What followed was pure adventure. Determined to ride the Forge Road toward Clywedog Reservoir, we doubled back toward the Cross Foxes Inn and picked up the A470 instead. It wasn’t the plan… but it became the best part of the day. The detour led us onto roads we never would’ve ridden and into vistas we never would’ve seen. Sometimes getting lost is exactly what brings a group together — and this ride proved it.
