Vidi Aquam - Gregorian Chant for Eastertide (with lyrics & translation)
Vidi aquam is the antiphon for the sprinkling of water at the beginning of Mass during Eastertide; it replaces Asperges me Domine. It consists of an antiphon, a Psalm verse and the Doxology. The text of the antiphon is drawn from the vision of the Temple in Ezechiel 47. The Psalm excerpt is the first verse of Psalm 117 in the Vulgate Lyrics: Latin Vidi aquam egredientem de templo, a latere dextro, alleluja: Et omnes, ad quos pervenit aqua ista, salvi facti sunt et dicent, alleluja. (verse: Ps. 117) Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus: quoniam in saeculum misericordia ejus. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen English: I saw water flowing from the temple, on the right side, alleluia: And all to whom that water came have been saved, and they will say, alleluia. Worship the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy is forever. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED ORIGINAL AUDIO BELONGS TO ITS RESPECTFUL OWNER #gregorianchant #sacred #catholic
