TOP TEN: The Best Songs Of Vengaboys [RETRO]

This group was formed in 1997 by Dutch producers Wessel van Diepen and Dennis van den Drieschen, known as Danski and Delmondo. They casted lead vocalist Kim Sassbone, female vocalist Denise Post-Van Rijswijk and male vocalist Robin Pors and Roy den Burger. After two small hits in the Dutch Charts they had their breakthrough in 1998 with the single 'Up & Down' which peaked at #4 in the UK Single Charts, #5 in the Netherlands and reached #12 in Germany. Their next single 'We Like To Party (The Vengabus)' then became even bigger, peaking at #2 in Australia and the Netherlands, #3 in the UK and Ireland, #4 in Germany and even reached the Top 30 of the US Billboard Single Charts, where it peaked at #26. Their album 'The Party Album' then reached the Top 5 in Canada, Australia and New Zealand and peaked at #6 in the UK. It has been certified multiple times platinum in New Zealand (5-times), Canada (3-times), UK (twice) and Australia (twice). In 1999 their next single 'Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!' then captured the top spot in the UK, Sweden, Netherlands and New Zealand. They were able to repeat the #1 song in the UK with their next single 'We're Going To Ibiza', which also topped the Dutch Single Charts. In 2000 they released their 2nd album 'The Platinum album' including the single 'Shalala Lala' which topped the charts in New Zealand and reached Top 5 all across the globe in countries like Germany, UK, Australia, Ireland, Netherlands and many more. The album also reached Top 5 in various countries and has been certified platinum in Australia. Shortly thereafter Pors and den Burger left and in 2002 the group disbanded. They came back in 2006 for some club shows with new member Donny Latupeirissa for den Burger and since 2009 3 of the original 4 Vengaboys have been touring and continue to make music.
