Exploring Hemet - Full Coverage | SoCal Spotlight

We are headed to Hemet for this week's SoCal Spotlight. Hemet is a city in the San Jacinto Valley in Riverside County. It is a small city known for its charming downtown district and access to golf courses like Seven Hills Golf Course or Diamond Valley Lake. Hemet is 50 to 80 miles east of Los Angeles and Orange County. Hemet has been named a Tree City USA for 20 years by the Arbor Day Foundation for its dedication to the local forest. The city's motto is "A city for all generations," with affordable housing and idyllic surroundings as the attraction, the Valley’s population increased 62% since 1990. Most newcomers are professionals and young families in search of a good place to raise kids and enjoy life. While the national trend has been an aging population, the median age in Hemet dropped from 56.7 to 37.1 years. The city is known for being the home of The Ramona Pageant, California's official outdoor play set in the Spanish colonial era. Started in 1923, the play is one of the longest-running outdoor plays in the United States.
