It’s more of a refinement. Hooks and glossy production remain central to the Aussie’s modus operandi, but the tempo responsible for slow grooves like “Face To Face” and “Real Thing” has been notched up by quite a few BPMs. Fans noticed musical and physical growth in the “YOU AGAINST YOURSELF” video, too. Thematically, the clip illustrates all the different ways he’s tried to cheer on an acquaintance who’s “self-destructing.” In the end, he throws up his hands. Letting go is a healthy option. So is shaking out your feelings, which is what he did in September during his special concert at Baby’s All Right.
