Ubunye Challenge Cup: Levelling the Playing Field in South Africa's Eastern Cape

In South Africa's Eastern Cape, the poorest region of the country, most children grow up with no access to sport, art, or debate. The Ubunye Challenge Cup is changing that. In 2025, our inaugural Cup gave 13 under-resourced rural schools the resources to build art, debate, and sport programs from scratch. 529 students took part, many stepping off their own campus and onto a competition field for the very first time. Children who had never held a netball walked off as champions. This is their story. In 2026 we're going bigger: 20 schools, 950 students, and disciplines spanning soccer, netball, music, art, debating, and poetry, all culminating on Finals Day on September 2nd. 100% of every gift goes directly to the schools.
