Upper Nantahala Kayaking - Spring Fling 2024 // Nantahala Outdoor Center

Spring Fling at the NOC was a blast! I finally got my pfd on the Upper Nantahala. Somehow, I never paddled this stretch of river. While it is almost unbelievable, I just never got on this stretch. A few years ago during P5's first season, it was suggested to me that I take him there. I had never done that river and at the time, my policy was to never take him on a river I didnt know myself. I believe it was that right approach and we passed that day. Fast forward 4 years, he is a phenomenal paddler now and quite capable of handling himself. This frees up a lot of options in river selection. Running PFD's together now is not a big deal. We finally made it back here.
