Dentro l’ultimo RUIN BAR di Budapest: sarà la fine? 🏚️🖤
We spend the morning of our third day in Budapest visiting Városliget, the city's park, preceded by the spacious Heroes' Square, flanked by the beautiful buildings of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Art Gallery. We first stop at the New York Café, the iconic venue restored to its former glory after a recent renovation. We continue to find various mini-statues of Kolodko scattered throughout the city. Once we reach the immense park, we begin visiting its various attractions, such as the fabulous thermal baths (the largest in Europe), the House of Hungarian Music, and the castle. Near the castle are the mini-statue dedicated to Dracula and the bust of Bela Lugosi, a famous actor of Hungarian origins. We have lunch inside the park at one of the various cafés, sipping the famous lemonade. We skirted the immense ethnographic museum and then began walking back toward the city center. We stopped at Szimpla Kert, one of the last remaining ruin bars in Budapest. Ruin bars are spaces created from abandoned buildings using recycled materials. Inside, there's an air of decay, but the whole thing is quite charming. Let's hope this one survives. After dinner, we returned to Fisherman's Bastion to capture some more shots of the city at sunset and at night. Finally, we walked across the iconic Chain Bridge.
