This annual event honors students who have demonstrated academic success, personal growth, cultural pride, leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. The Brilliance Awards serve as an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Black students while recognizing the educators, families, and community members who support their success. Throughout the evening, students are acknowledged for their hard work, resilience, and contributions to the Hamilton High School community. The event also highlights the mission of LAUSD's Black Student Achievement Plan—to empower Black students through academic support, mentorship, leadership development, and culturally responsive programming.
