Stay - Rihanna (Chappell Roan cover) @ Springfield Music 7/9/13

In July 2013, 15 year old Chappell Roan (then under the stage name Kayleigh Amstutz / Kayleigh Rose) was a small town girl with a dream of making and being known for her music. she would perform at small venues and gigs around the town of Willard, Missouri, and the city of Springfield, Missouri. One of her proudest contenders for music performance was the now-defunct “Springfield Music” (renamed to Ernie Williamson Music). During Chappells multi-year run with Springfield Music, she likely not only took multiple music lessons there, but she often sung for them at their small events. Now only a few of these performances of known, let alone documented. But, one was lucky enough to have video footage from it. That was the July 2013 performance. We don’t know much about the specifics from this performance. But, we know what song she sung. It was a cover of “Stay” by Rihanna. She only did this once, and this is the footage of it. I recently discovered it buried between videos on the Internet Archive and thought it was too perfect not to share! Do enjoy! She attends vocal lessons at Springfield Music where she learns ways to user her voice as a musical instrument by accentuating her natural talent through registration, tone production and resonance, and breath control and support. Kayleigh Rose started singing by performing in her 8th grade talent show at Willard Middle School. Once her family heard her sing, they decided to get her started in vocal lessons. Since then, she has competed in Springfield's Got Talent and ended up taking first place! She also won Springfield's First Night Last Song Contest with the opportunity to perform at the annual community New Year's Eve event. Kayleigh Rose performs locally in small venues and loves to share her gift with others.
