Valery Panov as Petroushka (1963)
This is 1963 footage of part of Russian production of 'Petroushka', with Valery Panov as Petroushka, M. Mazunov as The Ballerina and A. Miretsky as The Moor. The choreography is credited as by K. Boyasky and by Mikhail Fokine, the choreographer of the original production which premiered on 13 June 1911 with Vaslav Nijinsky, Tamara Karsavina and Alexandre Orlov in the principal roles and Enrico Cecchetti as The Charlatan. A quick look round the internet didn't help me find the full names of M. Mazunov and A. Miretsky. If anyone could tell us what 'M' and 'A' stand for that would be great! Enjoy!
