NA COLETA DA CASTANHA DO PARÁ/AMAZÔNIA!. #frutas
Collecting Brazil nuts, also known as Brazil nuts, is a traditional activity in the Amazon region, carried out mainly during the rainy season, between the months of December and March. Collectors, called chestnut gatherers, travel through the forest to collect the nuts — large, hard fruits that fall from the trees and contain 12 to 24 nuts each. This process is done manually, respecting the natural cycle of the forest, which makes the activity sustainable. In addition to representing an important source of income for local communities, collecting nuts also contributes to the preservation of the Amazon rainforest.
