A new production and living center is being established in Artvin under the leadership of women entrepreneurs. The Beşpare Eco-Culture Village Living Center project, implemented in Varlık Village of Artvin under the leadership of women entrepreneurs, is nearing completion. The center, which aims to transform women's labor into production and economic value, is expected to complete its renovations soon. The Artvin Women Entrepreneurs Tourism Development and Management Cooperative, within the scope of the SOGEP Program, is renovating a 63-year-old stone building and converting the classrooms of the village school into a workshop. With this project, Varlık Village is becoming a new hub for production. Representatives from the Artvin Governorate Project Office, DOKA, KOSGEB, TKDK, the Provincial Directorate of Trade, and the Directorate of Industry and Technology participated in the field inspection held on Monday, June 22nd. The Cooperative President Hatice Nur Ersöz, board members, and cooperative members were present during the visit. Ersöz stated that the center is equipped with boutique production areas, a dough workshop, and an industrial kitchen, adding, “Where the hope of Artvin women ends, their determination begins. We have reached this point with great effort. We will both increase our production capacity and produce standardized products.” Fatma İpek, DOKA Artvin Liaison Officer, emphasized the importance of the project in terms of women's entrepreneurship and the commercialization of local products, saying, “The building has literally changed its appearance. From now on, we will move to the production phase and Artvin will be taken to a higher level.” Zuhal Tuğçe Yazıcı, who was involved in the project writing process, stressed that the center emerged entirely from the idea of ​​the women's cooperative. Serkan Savaş, the headman of Varlık Village, said that the investment is an important gain for the village. Cooperative members and trainers also expressed their contributions to the project and called for support. Doner kebab master Bahtiyar Gürbüz said, “Hatice sister illuminated our dreams. This project will be an example for many cooperatives,” while copper craftsmanship instructor Sermin Koçak said, “We are very close to the end, hopefully it will be completed beautifully.” The Beşpare Eco-Culture Village Life Center, which aims to bring women's labor together with production, tourism, and culture, is expected to be completed and operational in the coming days.
