Prezentacja nowych autobusów elektrycznych w Suwałkach

The Suwałki city authorities unveiled 10 new electric, zero-emission buses today. As previously reported, the vehicles arrived in the city a few days ago. The vehicles will be parked daily in a new building, which serves as a garage and a modern charging hub for electric vehicles. The investment includes a complete, stable infrastructure. The garage is ready, and construction of a transformer station that will power the fleet will soon be completed. The buses will hit the streets of Suwałki immediately after the chargers are technically accepted, which will take place later this year. "Today we are not only looking into the future of public transport in our city—today we are inaugurating that future! The buses and the new building are just one element of a much larger plan for the coming weeks," said Czesław Renkiewicz, Mayor of Suwałki. The total investment in public transport modernization in the coming years will reach PLN 114 million, of which nearly PLN 95 million is funding from sources such as the European Union. With such a large, multi-tasking, and expensive project, we are committed to 100% reliability and safety. All these activities are integrated and overlap. The buses require a complete, stable charging infrastructure, powered by a new transformer station. "We will not introduce them into service until the system is fully operational," added the local government official. Soon, the 10 buses will be joined by one articulated, 18-meter electric bus. The contract for this vehicle has been signed. Delivery is planned for next year. PGK has purchased three more electric buses. The vehicles will arrive in Suwałki right after the New Year. A new bus wash has also been built. Installation of a new ticket distribution system and validators is being finalized and will begin later this year. Twenty-five dynamic passenger information displays will be modernized and 15 new ones purchased. The investment combines transportation with the development of infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. The construction of over 6.6 kilometers of new pedestrian and bicycle paths is planned, some of which are already complete. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🔔 Subscribe to the channel to stay up to date: https://bit.ly/3sIOY5G 📋 More at: https://radio5.com.pl/ 👉 Like us on Facebook:   / radio-5-123762177641262
