Washington DC | Encircling the U.S. Capitol | 4K

Join me as we take a full lap around the United States Capitol Building. We begin at 1st Street SW from the Garfield Memorial, walk directly to the West Front and then hike the hill (yes, Capitol Hill is an actual hill) counterclockwise to the Peace Monument at 1st Street NW. It is Sunday, which means that it is calm and peaceful. We almost have the place entirely to ourselves. We get a view of the Library of Congress (Jefferson Building) in the distance, and also take a look at the Anne Frank Tree, which keeps watch along the pathway. It was grown from a sapling of the original horse chestnut tree that she mentioned in her diary. This tree, seagulls and the sky were her only glimpes of the outside world from her attic window in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
