【MAD】陽だまり(めぞん一刻 OP), Hidamari(Maison Ikkoku OST)

Hidamari (陽だまり), meaning "Sunshine," is the fifth and final opening theme song for the TV anime Maison Ikkoku (めぞん一刻). It was performed by Kōzō Murashita and arranged by Kimio Mizutani. The song was used from episode 77 through episode 96. When assigned this song, Murashita thoroughly read the original manga to deeply understand the world of Maison Ikkoku. As a result, the lyrics he created strongly reflect the themes and story of the series, making this song a fitting main theme for the anime. For this video, I edited the animation footage to match the world conveyed by the lyrics as closely as possible. Kōzō Murashita passed away in 1999. We sincerely pray for his peaceful rest. Murashita-san, we will all miss you.
