Hiking The Savage Alpine Trail in Denali National Park, Alaska!

On the way back from the Dalton Highway we had to drive by Denali National Park. On the way north we did visit the park and drove down to Savage River and back but Mt McKinley was clouded in so we couldn't get a peak. On the way south the weather seemed better so we reserved 3 nights at Savage River Campground. With easy access to the Savage Alpine Trail and a shuttle bus that would take us back to camp for free we decided this would be a great hike. It was just as good as the name would imply! We finally get to see Alaskan pikas as well! We did see dall sheep as well but only through someone's spotting scope. Even with our binoculars they only seemed like white rocks. After the hike the time matched up to one of the three daily sled dog demonstrations at the dog kennels that the park maintains!
