Ignorance almost got dangerous - Engine failure in strait | Fragments from the sea3 | Sisi at sea 13

This is a story I share with a bit of hesitation, because it reveals my own lack of knowledge. I’m on my way out through a narrow strait in the Faroe Islands, under engine — and suddenly, the engine stops. What now? I can’t fix it here. So I quickly set a sail and start tacking my way out through the strait, just trying to get into open water where I have space to deal with it. In that moment, what made it difficult wasn’t just the place — it was my own lack of knowledge. I can find the mistake. Looking back, it wasn’t a dramatic failure. It was something I probably could have handled better — if I had known what to do. This video is about that experience. About being out there alone, realizing your limits, and having to deal with a situation you’re not fully prepared for. Maybe it’s something other sailors — can relate to. This video is part of the story of my previous sailing adventures, before my current boat and journey. At the time, I was sailing solo in a small B31 from 1976, built in Sweden.
