Eusebio Lillo Robles was a Chilean poet, journalist, revolutionary, diplomat, businessman, banker, art collector, and politician. He is best known as the author of the lyrics to the national anthem, but throughout his life he participated in major milestones in our history. A member of the Generation of '42 and the Society of Equality, he was exiled after the 1951 revolution, founded the Bolivian banking system, and played a significant role in the War of the Pacific.
