TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has spoken out regarding the news of the dismissal of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana. Purbaya admitted he was shocked to hear that President Prabowo Subianto had removed Dadan and his deputy from their posts. Purbaya made this statement after attending a working meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Wednesday (June 3, 2026). Purbaya stated that the removal of Dadan from his position was under President Prabowo Subianto's authority following a performance evaluation. Purbaya even emphasized that the Ministry of Finance had no involvement in the matter. "This is the President's decision after evaluating his performance. We're not interfering," Purbaya emphasized. Purbaya also commented on the former Head of the National Development Planning Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, who was detained by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) on Wednesday (June 3). He believes the Ministry of Finance's report to the AGO was one of the considerations in Dadan Hindayana's arrest. Purbaya said this had been confirmed by the AGO, stating that the Ministry of Finance's report strengthens the corruption allegations against Dadan. "Perhaps one of the reports also came from us, right? It wasn't just us. The Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) investigated, the AGO investigated. Everyone examined and verified. So we exchanged data, I think," Purbaya said after a Working Meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Wednesday. Purbaya stated that oversight of state budget use is not solely carried out by the Ministry of Finance. He added that oversight is also carried out by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the AGO. On the same occasion, Purbaya also provided information regarding the Sexual Assault Law, which was approved for ratification at the Plenary Session. He also commented on the weakening of the rupiah, which is approaching Rp 18,000 per US dollar.
