My Childhood Yugioh Decks (2002-2004) | SOTC 6

Hey there guys, Master Turtle here! Today I'm doing another part of my Yu-Gi-Oh collection, but we are looking back at my actual childhood decks. And no, they're not particularly strong! I was just a little kid back then between 2002, 2003, and 2004. This wasn't about an optimal meta strategy; it was about playing the strategy that I wanted to do based on playground trading and whatever cards I could get my hands on. We'll start with my original, taped-together deck box from 2002 and pull three different decks out of my travel case to show how things progressed: 2002: The "Six Elements" mish-mash deck. My strongest card was a shiny Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon, even though I didn't actually have a way to fuse it! I just wanted to run all six attribute-boosters together because I felt like they belonged, even if they completely conflicted. 2003: Shifting gears into a defensive spirit monster setup. This one features Red-Eyes, Dark Magician, and the infamous story of a childhood trade-back where someone got mad and literally jabbed my Mask of Restrict with a pen. 2004: Moving toward an early Chaos and graveyard setup, featuring my rarest card—a 1st Edition Ultimate Rare Charcoal Inpachi—alongside some cool spell counter tech and a Giant Rat combo. These cards would get absolutely stomped if I played them competitively, but those playground duels with my brother were good times, and I can't deny how nostalgic I am just looking at them. I didn't really start playing competitively until around 2016, so we'll save that talk for another day. Hopefully you guys enjoy this showcase!
