Before we begin the Metro Train Parade in honor of the 91st anniversary of the Moscow Metro, let's first take a full ride on the Red Arrow metro train along the Circle Line, where it was easier to spot than on the Sokolnicheskaya Line. After the Circle Line, let's rewind a bit to a year and a half ago, where I rode the Red Arrow along the Sokol section from Salaryevo Station to Potapovo Station. And now a little history about the Numbered Red Arrow metro train. This themed metro train was launched into passenger service on the Sokolnicheskaya Line on October 9, 2006, in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Red Arrow passenger train from Moscow to St. Petersburg (Petrograd, Leningrad). This train is 94 years old (it turned 94 in 2025) and will soon be 95 (it will turn 95 in 2026). The metro train itself will turn 20 in October, marking its fourth anniversary. Initially, before the arrival of car 1938, car 1703 was coupled from 2006 to 2010. After the terrorist attack on Lubyanka Square, this car was replaced by car 1938, which became the Red Arrow. Its paint job was red; initially, the moldings were painted yellow with a design on the doors commemorating the train's 75th anniversary. Then, in 2016, the train's paint job changed, and it became entirely red with yellow stripes at the bottom. And starting in 2026, this train will participate for the first time in the metro train parade on the Circle Line in honor of the 91st anniversary of the Moscow Metro. Well, enjoy watching, everyone.
