In this episode we spend the first two weeks of the job doing the foundations! That involved ripping out the existing decking & patio. We had to create access through the garage due to there being no access around either side of the property. We used a mini digger to excavate the footings, then wheel narrowed the concrete in. Afterwards we laid our sub structure block using 6 inch and 4 inch block. This was followed by infilling the column which comprised type 1, sand, insulation, DPM and then a layer of concrete to form the slab. For the slab concrete we used a pump rather than the wheelbarrows which was a cool experience! Next week we will be doing out setting out for the timber kit and constructing the walls. stay tuned.
