SIMPLE but EFFECTIVE Jetty Fishing Rig / Rock Fishing Rig. Berkley Gulp Saltwater baits. On the Oregon Coast Fishing at Barview Jetty. If you are trying to figure out how to catch rockfish from jetty, this video should help get you going in the right direction.. it's just one of many methods for targeting rockfish. I will work on getting more jetty fishing tips and tricks videos out for those of you who are in need. One of my favorite locations for Oregon Coast Fishing is Barview Jetty, specifically for Black Sea Bass / Rockfish. They are a fun fish to catch and at times the fishing can get really hot! The key to jetty fishing for black bass / rockfish in my opinion, is timing your fishing time with the tides that will provide you with better chances of hooking a fish. Slack tide is the name of the game (the time in between tide changes) there is a small window of time where the water isn't really being pushed into the bay or being pulled out. This is the golden time to have your line in the water, as the fish will be out of their cover and feeding more. This window of time doesn't last very long but the hour leading up to the tide shift and the hour after, provides a decent amount of time to see if you can find some success. In some upcoming videos we will cover more about jetty fishing, rod setups, and the best types of baits to use. The Oregon coast has a lot to offer when it comes to fishing, here on the jetty you can also find surfperch (on the north side of Barview Jetty) these are another fun fish to catch and are quite delicious as well. We will soon be back out targeting these surfperch as well, from the jetty and from shore. We will be fishing from Newport to Barview to Nehalem Bay and covering everything in between.
