In a recent statement, Maeda Akira revealed the following fact about the scene where he delivered a high kick to Inoki after the Inoki vs. Fujiwara match. "After the Inoki vs. Fujiwara match, I kicked Inoki, right? Inoki told me to kick him in the chest after the match. But I was already pissed off, so I thought, 'Why should I kick him in the chest?' So I kicked him with all my might, aiming for his chin. But Inoki jumped out of the way at that moment. I guess he knew what I was thinking in an instant. I missed the point of the kick and it ended up hitting his neck. I thought, 'He's really been through hell, isn't he?' If Inoki had really fallen and been unable to move, that would have created a new angle. That's true pro wrestling, isn't it?
