My Honest Thoughts (and Concerns) About AI as a Software Developer

AI is fundamentally changing the role of a software engineer, and we have to talk about it. A lot of the conversations I see around how AI is impacting the industry come from the perspective of established and senior engineers, but what about juniors and mid-levels who are just now starting their careers in a field that is changing overnight? As an engineer early in their career, I'm sharing some of my thoughts (and concerns) about AI. And let me be clear, this is not all bad. I truly think AI has some really great implications for society, and I use it daily to improve my productivity and creativity. But I do think a lot of us are somewhere between excitement and hesitance. This is intended to be a space where the developer community can be honest and human about the conflicting moment we are in.
