Bringing together musicians of all ages, levels, instruments, and musical backgrounds, the ensemble explores the rich and diverse traditions of the Balkans, Klezmer, Sephardic (Ladino), Middle Eastern, and Caucasian music. This concert features a selection of melodies, songs, and dances inspired by the many cultures surrounding the Black Sea and beyond. Through a combination of written notation and oral transmission, participants learn not only the music itself but also the stylistic nuances, ornamentation, rhythms, and cultural contexts that give these traditions their unique character. The Latcho Balkan Orkestra camp takes place several times throughout the year and welcomes musicians of all levels, from beginners to professionals. Participants receive adapted sheet music, practice recordings, educational materials, and guidance from experienced educators and performers. Réunissant des musicien·ne·s de tous âges, niveaux, instruments et horizons musicaux, l’ensemble explore les riches traditions des Balkans, du répertoire klezmer, séfarade (ladino), du Moyen-Orient et du Caucase. Ce concert présente une sélection de mélodies, de chants et de danses inspirés des nombreuses cultures qui entourent la mer Noire et bien au-delà. Grâce à un enseignement combinant partitions et transmission orale, les participant·e·s découvrent non seulement les œuvres musicales, mais aussi les styles, les ornements, les rythmes et les contextes culturels qui font la richesse de ces traditions. Le camp Latcho Balkan Orkestra a lieu plusieurs fois par année et accueille des musicien·ne·s de tous niveaux, du débutant au professionnel. Les participant·e·s bénéficient de partitions adaptées, d’enregistrements MP3, de matériel pédagogique et d’un accompagnement personnalisé assuré par des artistes et pédagogues expérimentés.
