Melvin Matibag's testimony on Wednesday, Senator-Judge Alan Peter Cayetano said he still had many questions but chose not to ask them during the trial proceedings.Sen. Kuya Alan explained that he expects to have more opportunities to question Director Matibag in the coming weeks, noting that the NBI is conducting several investigations in which he has been included.The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Sunday shrugged off Senator Alan Peter Cayetano’s remarks against its Director Melvin Matibag, stating that “a position that cannot be defended with facts is often defended with insults.”The NBI made the pronouncement after Cayetano, during a Facebook live stream earlier the same day, referred to Matibag as a “minion.The senator’s description comes after the bureau reopened its investigation into the alleged anomalous procurements in the 2019 Southeast Asian (Sea) Games.This investigation might Cayetano in hot water as he chaired the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee during the country’s hosting of the event.
