From 7 a.m. until sunset, the grounds are filled with numerous stalls and bustling crowds. The Tenjin Market is said to be one of the two largest markets in Kyoto, rivaling the Kobo Market at To-ji Temple, and features many stalls selling antiques, old tools, and second-hand clothing. As the sun sets, the shrine buildings, including the National Treasure Main Hall, are illuminated, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. January is called Tenjin New Year, and December is the last Tenjin month, both drawing even more visitors. In addition to treasure hunting, visitors can enjoy the scenery of the ancient temple.
