Carezza House - Tara Architects The mountain house opens with large windows on two sides: towards the alpine panorama of Nova Levante, while on the other two, towards the built area that surrounds it, it has a more closed character. This choice allows us to protect the privacy of the inhabitants, but at the same time to fully enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature of the Dolomites. The exteriors of the house are covered in shingles, a traditional material of the area, which is suitable for resisting bad weather. In this way, the building fits harmoniously into the landscape and cultural context. The house was built to make the most of the characteristics of the land. A significant part of the building mass was in fact buried, in order to exploit the natural heat of the ground. Daylight was also brought to the lower level through strategically placed skylights and openings. The interlocking double gable roof, rotated in plan and staggered in height, creates interesting plays of light and space both inside and outside. Furthermore, it helps to reduce the overall volume of the modern house, making it more harmonious with the surrounding ones. The interiors of the house are characterized by a welcoming and refined atmosphere. The materials used, such as wood, natural stone and steel, were carefully worked by expert craftsmen, who were able to enhance their aesthetic and tactile qualities. The result is a mountain house that perfectly combines functionality and aesthetics, offering a place of well-being and relaxation.
