La Historia de la 12 | BOCA 🔵🟡

Boca Juniors' fanbase is one of the most popular in the world, mainly due to its great loyalty and culture of endurance. But what many wonder is why it's known as La 12. Why is the Boca Juniors fanbase called La 12? While the barra brava (organized supporters group) adopted the nickname La 12, by which it is known worldwide, the moniker actually belongs to all Boca fans. It was acquired in 1925 due to the large number of supporters who accompanied the team during their tour of Europe. Rafael Di Zeo is the most prominent figure of La 12, Boca's barra brava. At age 7, he started going to the stadium accompanied by his father, and at 16, he joined Quique's barra brava in 1978. This is the story of Rafael Di Zeo. How did La 12 come about? The origin of its name dates back to 1925, when Boca Juniors undertook the first tour in its history and in Argentine football. Travelling with the players and coaching staff was a prominent fan known as the First Twelfth Man, Victoriano Caffarena.
