Simple Creme Caramel Recipe.

This is a simple and delicious creme caramel recipe which is really easy to make. Creme caramel is a custard pudding or flan with a topping of caramel. Really delicious custard dessert. Here is a list of the ingredients you will need and the method. A delicious and cheap dessert. 100g / 3.5oz Sugar 0.12 2 tbsp Water 0.00 200 ml Whole Milk 0.12 150 ml Double Cream 0.66 1 tsp Vanilla 0.12 2 eggs + 1 Yolk 0.51 60g / 2.1oz Sugar 0.07 Total Cost 1.60 4 Servings at 0.40 Each. Put 100g of the sugar into a pan and add the water. Heat over a medium heat until the sugar melts and turns a light brown colour, no need to stir. (The sugar will be very hot so be careful not to spill it or splash) Add the eggs and 60g of sugar to a bowl and beat together. Heat the milk and cream until it is just about to boil. Add the milk to the eggs a little at a time while whisking. Pour the caramel into the bottom of four ramekins and allow to set. Pour the custard into 4 ramekins and place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill half way up the sides of the ramekins with boiling water. Bake in the oven for 170c / 325f / Gas mark 4 for 35 - mins. Allow to cool and refrigerate for about 4 hours.
