SECUENCIA DE CORPUS CHRISTI | NUEVA MELODÍA
A new melody to sing on this solemn occasion with all love and devotion. Blessings!!! (The chords are the same for all verses) E B7 C#m Let us praise the Savior, A F#m B7 who is our shepherd and guide. E B7 C#m Let us praise Him with hymns A F#m7 B7 and songs of joy. E B7 C#m Let us praise Him without limits A B7 and with all our strength; D A for so great is the Lord, F#m B7 that our praise is but little. Gladly today we acclaim Christ, who is our bread, for He is the bread of life, who gives us immortal life. Twelve were those who dined and He gave bread to the twelve. Then twelve ate it, and, afterward, all people. Let praise be full and filled with joyful songs; May our souls overflow in a holy concert. Today we joyfully celebrate the glorious institution of this divine banquet, the Lord's Supper. This is the new Passover, Passover of the one King, which ends the covenant so burdensome of the law. This new thing, ever new, is the light of truth, which replaces the old with fresh clarity. At that Last Supper, Christ performed the miracle of leaving his friends the memorial of his life. Taught by the Church, we consecrate bread and wine, which redeem us, and give us strength on our journey. It is a Christian dogma that the bread becomes flesh, and what was once wine becomes blood. There are things we do not understand, for reason cannot grasp them; but if we see them with faith, they will enter our hearts. Beneath diverse symbols and in different forms, certain marvelous, profound truths are hidden. His Blood is our drink; His Flesh, our food; but in the bread or in the wine, Christ is wholly present. Whoever eats it does not break it, does not divide or separate it; He is the whole and the part; He lives in whoever receives Him. It may be only one who approaches the altar, or it may be multitudes: Christ will not end. The good and the wicked eat Him, with different benefits; it is not the same to have life as to be condemned to death. To the wicked He gives death and to the good He gives life. What a different effect the same food has! If they break it, do not worry; they only break the outer part; in the smallest fragment, the Lord beats whole. When they break the outer part, they only break what you have seen; It is not a diminution of the person of Christ. The bread that comes down from heaven is food for travelers. It is bread for the children. It must not be thrown to the dogs! Isaac, the innocent one, is a figure of this bread, with the Passover lamb and the mysterious manna. Have compassion on us, good shepherd, true bread. Feed us and care for us and lead us to heaven. You can do all things and know all things, divine shepherd of sheep. Grant us in heaven to enjoy the inheritance with you.
