This is a minor mining area, a small mine whose existence was unknown, and I had no clues at all. I headed there on a whim, but I met the owner and he told me where the mine entrance was. Apparently, a 2cm-sized quartz crystal once lay here. Also, if you break a boulder with a quartz vein with a hammer, you may find a quartz crystal about 1cm in size inside. *Since there is no information available about this mine, other minerals are unknown. [Directions to the Mine 1] To the Old Road Entrance ★By Car Exit the Kawazu Sakasakawa Interchange on the Izu Longitudinal Expressway. Drive 4.5 minutes northeast on National Route 414 until you reach the Hirooguchi bus stop. Take the side road just before the bus stop and walk 400 meters down to the entrance to the old road. *However, there are no parking spaces nearby, so your only option is to ask a local for permission to park (I parked on the owner's land). ★By Bus You can get to Sakasakawa by municipal bus from JR Kawazu Station (open to non-residents). The municipal bus stop at Kawazu Station is a pink bus stop next to the Tokai Bus Kawazu Ekimae Information Center. The bus is a white Hiace with an illustration of Kawazu cherry blossoms on its body. The fare is a flat 100 yen and it operates only on weekdays. The trail entrance is located in a private yard, so be sure to get permission from the resident before entering the mountain. [Caution] 1. Do not park without permission. 2. Do not enter the mine entrance or tunnels; they are dangerous. 3. Do not unnecessarily dig up tree roots; they may fall over. 4.
