Detuvieron a tres delincuentes tras impactante persecución en San Miguel

Three criminals were arrested by the San Miguel Municipal Police after a dramatic chase that ended when the thieves lost control of their car and crashed into another vehicle. The gang was dedicated to stealing bicycles in the district's center, as can be seen in the images from the car's trunk, where they had stored various parts. The case was particularly significant because it marked the first time a female patrol driver had been involved in a chase—the first woman to hold this position within the San Miguel Municipal Police. It all began when a license plate reader camera alerted authorities to a vehicle entering the district that was implicated in several robberies. The COM supervisor began monitoring it in real time and strategically positioned Municipal Police patrol cars to organize a roadblock operation. When officers attempted to stop the car at the intersection of Balbín Avenue and Blasco Ibáñez Street, the vehicle tried to flee, but the municipal patrol car pursued it for six blocks until the driver lost control and crashed into another vehicle. A woman and a man were arrested at the scene, while the driver escaped on foot. However, after a search of the area, another municipal patrol car apprehended him a few blocks from the accident. A search of the vehicle revealed various bicycle parts, chain-cutting tools, and 13 packets of cocaine.
