Eyeball Creatures, Sneak Peeks & Dad Jokes | Glass Blowing LIVE
Tonight’s live show 372 had everything — glowing creatures, lantern festival stories, surprise sneak peeks, hot-shop chaos, and enough eye jokes to last us until next Tuesday. 👁️🔥 We kicked things off talking about unforgettable lantern festivals from around the world — from giant illuminated paper sculpture displays to those magical wish lantern releases where hundreds of glowing lights float into the sky all at once. That spirit of creativity and light carried right into the hot shop as the team got to work on one of the wildest pieces of the night. The featured creation? An absolutely funky little “Egyptian Eye” creature that slowly came to life right in front of the cameras. The crew stamped the piece live with the GA mark, added rich gold-brown details, sculpted a glowing tendril on top, and debated whether the strange little extension was hair, an optic nerve, or some kind of alien communication device. Either way, by the time the iris details went in and the final flashes of heat hit the glass, this thing had developed a personality all its own. As always, the live teamwork inside the studio was half the fun. From “square it up for me” moments at the bench to discussions about keeping products active online after the show, viewers got to experience the real behind-the-scenes energy of a working glass studio. There were flashes, rotations, clean punty work, and one especially satisfying dismount into the annealer that earned cheers from everyone watching. Along the way, the crew talked through upcoming events, future gallery plans, and collectible releases while teasing viewers with quick blurry previews of a brand-new product launch coming in just a few weeks. The sneak peeks happened fast — intentionally fast — but loyal viewers definitely caught enough to start getting excited. The giveaway question of the week asked: “Have you ever caught someone staring at you? Was it intentional or unintentional?” That naturally spiraled into a hilarious conversation about eye contact, Renaissance Festival glassblowing demonstrations, and whether audiences are technically “staring” while watching artists work in the hot shop. The answer? Probably yes… but we’re staring right back. And because no Glass Academy live show is complete without a little chaos and comedy, the night wrapped up with a full round of eye-themed dad jokes: “What did the right eye say to the left eye? Between us, something smells.” and “Do you know who I ran into on the way to the eye doctor? Everybody.” Classic. Thank you to everyone who spent Tuesday night with us live from the studio. Whether you tuned in for the molten glass, the weird eyeball creatures, the collectible releases, the giveaways, or just the laughs, we appreciate every single one of you. We go live every Tuesday from 6–7:30 PM (and usually beyond), and next week’s special show is shaping up to be something really special. Don’t forget about the Loyalty League, the Fifth Saturday Sale, collectible marinis, and all the exciting releases headed your way soon. Until next time — keep creating, keep collecting, and keep the furnace hot. Follow us!
