With this version, the artist pays tribute to one of the most emblematic classics of copla and Spanish song. Performed with respect, emotion, and the strength that characterizes his voice, Doblas captures the essence of a genre that is part of our collective memory, while simultaneously bringing a freshness and contemporary sensibility. “I wanted to sing El Emigrante with all the love and respect in the world, because it is a gem of our music and an anthem for so many people. My intention has been to enhance the most valuable thing we have: copla and Spanish song,” says Fran Doblas. The production of this song has taken great care with every detail to maintain the roots of the original work, while highlighting Fran's artistic identity, consolidating him as the heartthrob of 21st-century copla. About Fran Doblas: Fran Doblas (Francisco Manuel Doblas Delgado, La Luisiana, Seville, 1992) is one of the essential names of the new generation of flamenco and copla artists. He began his training at the age of 16 with the Malaga-born maestro Pedro Gordillo and soon gained recognition in Andalusian competitions such as the First Prize in Utrera, Alhaurín de la Torre, and the prestigious Sartén de Oro in Écija. In 2011, he became the first male winner of the successful Canal Sur program "Se llama Copla," launching a career that has taken him to major theaters in Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia, and international stages in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata. His show "Soñando caminos" (2014) sold out the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville, and in 2016 his participation in La Voz (Alejandro Sanz's team, with support from José Mercé) established him as a versatile artist with great potential. His performance of "La gata bajo la lluvia" moved the audience and received recognition from Shaila Dúrcal. Currently, Fran Doblas is evolving toward a flamenco-pop sound with the help of producer Miguel Linde, maintaining the roots of the south and adapting it to current sensibilities.
