All My Children - 2002 - What Ifs

All My Children, 2002, Tad insists that Brooke stop being his babysitter, and spend time with Edmund. When Brooke turns around to find Edmund, he has disappeared. Brooke wanders into the mausoleum, and finds Edmund talking to "Maria." Brooke attempts to leave without being noticed, but Edmund hears her at the door. Brooke apologizes for listening, and then apologizes again for the part she feels she played in Maria's death. Edmund is glad that he has the chance to bring up his feelings about Maria, and he wants to share them with Brooke before they get married. They return to the chapel, and Edmund tells Brooke that for the first time since Maria's death, he is ready to let her go. Brooke admits that she has been irrationally worried since they got back together that Maria could return. Edmund thinks of all the problems they could face, that isn't one of them. Edmund admits that he was worried Brooke was thinking about getting back together with Tad. Brooke supports Tad because he is her friend, not just because he is Jamie's father, but she loves only Edmund. The two realize that the road to happiness has never been easy for them, but as long as they are honest with each other, they have got it licked.
