Liepaja 400+: Latvia's German Heritage. A City Walk.

We set off on a journey along the Latvian coast of the Baltic Sea. The first city on our tour was Liepāja. It is probably the most beautiful Latvian city. Nowhere else will you find such a diversity of urban architecture. Liepāja was founded by Germans over 400 years ago and was then called Libau. At that time, they inhabited this area alongside the Balts. In 1795, the city became part of the Russian Empire. After the collapse of the Russian Empire, it was returned to Latvia in 1917. The city stretches along the seashore. A significant portion of its coastal strip is occupied by a nature park with numerous sports and recreational facilities. Cycling and walking along the sandy shore are very popular here. So, I invite everyone to take a stroll around the city. It will be interesting.
