👉 Robe 118 Burda style 06-2026 : une robe sublime mais un montage qui demande de l'organisation
Hello everyone 🦊 Today, I'm taking you through the making of the strapless dress, pattern 118 from the June 2026 issue of Burda Style magazine. With a difficulty rating of 3/4, this pattern is undoubtedly one of the more technically challenging projects in this issue. The dress has many similar pieces, a bodice lining, a 60cm invisible zipper, ties at the sides, and a back vent. My first piece of advice before we begin: number all your pattern pieces and carefully transfer all the pattern markings, as they are essential for successful assembly. For my version, I chose a printed cotton-elastane blend. Unlike the magazine's suggestion of a full lining, I opted to line only the bodice with the main fabric to maintain a nice shape while keeping the skirt lighter. Supplies Used ✂️ 1.80 m of cotton-elastane fabric ✂️ Fusible interfacing ✂️ 60 cm invisible zipper ✂️ 120 polyester thread ✂️ Burda's suggested option: 1.15 m of lining fabric to fully line the dress Tools Used 🧵 Sewing machine 🧵 Tissue paper for tracing patterns: https://amzn.to/4e9EwvL 🧵 50 cm Japanese ruler: https://amzn.to/4xnj5jJ In this video, you will discover: 🧵 How to create all the darts for the bodice and skirt 🧵 Assembling the different bodice bands and facings 🧵 Preparing and attaching the straps 🧵 The subtlety of assembling the front by folding piece 1 over piece 2 28 🧵 Making the ties to fasten the sides of the bodice 🧵 Assembling the lower bodice section in fabric and lining 🧵 Assembling the skirt and creating the back vent 🧵 Inserting a 60 cm invisible zipper 🧵 Finishing the lining for a clean and neat interior 🧵 Hand-sewing the invisible hem My tips before you begin ✔️ Identify and number each pattern piece as soon as you cut it out ✔️ Note all the assembly markings ✔️ Fuse pieces 28 and 29 as indicated in the magazine ✔️ I also recommend fusing the inward-folding section of piece 1 for better bodice structure My opinion on the pattern Dress 118 requires patience and good organization, but the result is worth it It's really worth it. I especially appreciated: ✨ Its very feminine look with the structured bodice ✨ The ties that allow for a personalized fit ✨ The clean finish thanks to the lining ✨ The ability to adapt the construction depending on the fabric chosen It's an excellent project for a sewist who wants to progress and learn new construction techniques.
