Cloud Generator (Frozen Fresh Hop) (Hazy DIPA) | Wayward Lane Brewing | Beer Review | #2955

In this review, I'm going to take a look at another beer from Wayward Lane Brewing, and it's their Cloud Generator (Frozen Fresh Hop). This is a Hazy Double IPA that is brewed and double dry-hopped with Idaho 7 CGX Nuvo, Simcoe, Azacca, Idaho 7 and Idaho 7 Liquid Lupulin hops. This beer sounds absolutely bonkers, and while Idaho 7 is seemingly a divisive hop, I tend to enjoy it when paired with other hops, so this might be right in my wheelhouse. Is it? Let's find out! Also, I want to give a huge thanks to Wayward Lane, and more specifically their co-founder, Kyle, for this beer! Additionally, another huge thanks to Chris over at Brewed & Bottled in Lewiston, NY for providing a helping hand in getting this beer to me! Link to Wayward Lane Brewing's Beer Mail: Courtesy of ... After some incredible results on the West Coast side of things, we knew it was time to apply some of these techniques and ingredients to our hazy program! This special edition of Cloud Generator features Idaho 7 CGX Nuvo from our friends Crosby Hops; a new hop product that takes fresh off the bine wet hops, and concentrates them by removing a large amount of the plant matter, locking in all of that beautiful and fresh vibrance that we absolutely adore. When stored frozen, CGX Nuvo allows us to capture some of the magic of fresh hops out of season! Idaho 7 CGX Nuvo was applied both in the whirlpool and dry hop, along side Simcoe, Azacca and Idaho 7 T90 pellets, and a final dose of Idaho 7 Liquid Lupulin. This beer absolutely oozes with intense tropical notes reminiscent of fresh pineapple juice, sweet mandarin orange flesh, fuzzy donut peaches and mango nectar. Tropical paradise integrates seamlessly with the bright and lively character you can only achieve from freshly harvested hops. Velvety smooth and full bodied, with the alcohol hidden seamlessly, this is one you're going to have a tough time not reaching for! Available in cans and on draft at our taproom now.
