Bodie Ghost Town - Walking Tour
Bodie is a gold mining ghost town in California's Sierra Nevada mountains, now a State Historic Park. Once a boomtown, it was named after W.S. Body who discovered gold there in 1859. The town's population peaked around 8,000, but declined after the mines closed in 1942. Bodie is preserved in a state of "arrested decay," meaning buildings are not restored, but stabilized. Bodie is located 75 miles Southeast of Lake Tahoe, and 13 miles off Hwy 395. Enjoy the tour! #bodie #bodieghosttown #ghosttown #395 #california #laketahoe #travelamericatv
