Lesson/Tutorial: Instrument Landing Systems (ILS)

This is a 10-minute example lesson/tutorial on Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) describing the localizer, glideslope, frequency selection (channel selection) and how ILS information is displayed on various cockpit instruments such as a localizer indicator, glideslope indicator, CDI, HSI and EFIS. The CBT software used is the ILS Trainer from Sphaera Training Systems, a fully interactive CBT application that will run on a standard PC in the classroom. It features a 3D environment with fully controllable airliner, a wide range of functioning ILS instruments, Nav Panel and clear visualisation of localizer beam and glideslope, enabling instructors to bring this subject to life in the classroom.
