Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), says the 2027 presidential race could be his last bid to contest for Nigeria’s highest political office. In 2019, Obi was the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside Atiku Abubakar. In 2023, the former governor of Anambra contested as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party. In May, he became the flagbearer of the NDC for the 2027 general election after defecting from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
