Budget SBC 350 Tear Down | No Stand. No Hoist. Can It Be Saved?

Welcome back to Indian Dirtbikes! In this video I completely tear down a Small Block Chevy 350 the old-school way, right on the garage floor. No engine stand, no hoist… just doing the best I can with the tools and space I have. I pull the pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, bearings, and seals while showing how everything comes apart. Along the way we discover what looks like milkshake oil, which could point to a blown head gasket or another coolant issue. Here’s what I found: • Possible blown head gasket (milky oil) • Pistons appear to be in decent condition • Bearings will definitely need to be replaced • Crankshaft will need to be cleaned and likely turned by a machine shop • Cylinder walls have some pitting that will need further inspection This is my first complete SBC teardown, so if you have experience rebuilding Small Block Chevys, I’d really appreciate your advice in the comments. Let me know what you think is reusable, what should be replaced, and what I should ask the machine shop to inspect. The next step is taking the block to a machine shop to be hot tanked and magnafluxed so we can find out if this old 350 is worth rebuilding.
